Get to Know Stephanie

Hello! My name is Stephanie Rivera and I am the proud owner of Pawsome Walks & Care. I was born in Washington D.C. but raised in Maryland. I have been around animals all my life. Since I was a little girl, I always loved taking care of my own pets, even strays. I was that little girl that always went to the rescue to help an injured or hungry animal. I discovered at a young age that I wanted to work with and be around animals. I was and still am an animal lover!

Despite this desire, passion, and love that I had as a child, I went off to college and majored in Criminal Justice. While in college, I decided to take a part-time job as a dog walker/pet sitter. It was then that I realized that I could open my very own pet sitting business. The wagging tails, the purrs, and the looks of content on the faces of my new “clients” was more than enough proof that this was the right profession for me. I continued to work on my degree and graduated from Howard Community College. After a few months of brainstorming, putting all my ideas together, and creating my business plan, I started Pawsome Walks & Care.

My job is both challenging and rewarding but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love what I do and I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends soon!

Get to Know Jose

My name is Jose and I am Stephanie’s husband and right-hand man! I am happy to be a part of the team and will serve as a back-up sitter. I grew up around farm animals and consider myself a true animal lover. I cannot imagine living in a home with no pets. We currently share our home with our children and 3 dogs named Khaleesi, Luke, and Katalina. The opportunity to start Pawsome Walks & Care with my wife has been the most exciting part of my life so far, and I can’t wait to get started on earning your trust.
